Why you should enter your COGS

Venon pulls your sales data directly from Shopify and calculates profit automatically. However, to show accurate results, Venon needs the real cost of goods for each product.

When your product costs are entered correctly:

  • ✅ Venon can display real-time profit of your your shop, of your campaigns and even of every single ad

  • ✅ You’ll see true net margins after ad spend, discounts, and fees

Update Costs for Products Without Variants

If your product has only one version (no sizes or colors):

  1. Open Shopify Admin:

  2. Navigate to Products:

In the left menu, click Products.

  3. Select a Product:

Choose the product you want to update.

  4. Find the “Cost per item” Field:

    Scroll to the Pricing section.

  5. Enter the Product Cost:

Type your cost of goods (COGS) — the amount you paid to produce or source this product.

  6. Save Your Changes:

Click Save in the top-right corner.

🧾 Example:

You sell a dog bed for €59.90, but it costs you €22.50 from your supplier.

Enter €22.50 as the “Cost per item.”

Venon will now calculate your true profit per sale using this data.
