Set up your shipping costs

Learn how to set up shipping and fulfillment cost profiles in Venon so net profit, margin, and break-even ROAS are accurate.

Use shipping costs to include fulfillment costs in profit calculations.

Set up shipping under Costs → Shipping. Start with the Default profile, then add specific profiles where fulfillment costs differ.

Where to find it

  • In the sidebar, open Costs.

  • Click Shipping.

How shipping profiles work

  • A shipping profile is a set of fulfillment costs: what it costs you to pick, pack, and ship an order.

  • The Default profile is used for any order that does not match a more specific profile.

  • You can add profiles when costs differ by country, shipping method, or product.

  • When an order comes in, Venon matches it to the most specific profile that fits and applies that profile’s costs.

For example, shipping inside the EU might cost less than shipping to the US, so you can create 1 profile for EU orders and another for US orders.

Add a shipping profile

  1. Click Add Profile.

  2. Give it a clear name, for example EU Standard.

  3. Set the Scope, which decides which orders the profile applies to. You can narrow it by:

    • Countries: choose whole regions or individual countries.

    • Shipping methods: match orders that used a specific method. You can choose from methods seen in your orders or type your own.

    • Products: apply it only to certain products or variants.

  4. Leave a scope field empty when it should match everything for that field. The Default profile has no scope, so it catches anything that is not matched.

  5. Enter your Logistics fees.

  6. Click Save Changes.

The fees you can enter

  • Per order: costs charged once per order, such as outbound shipping and packaging.

  • Per item: costs charged for each item in the order, such as picking the 1st item, picking following items, and other per-item costs.

  • Returns: costs used when an order is returned, such as per-order return fees and per-item inspection or restocking costs.

Per-order shipping and per-order return fees can be flat, weight-based, or item-based. Weight-based fees can use ranges such as 0–500g, 500g–2kg, and 2kg and up.

Costs that change over time

  • Use the calendar icon next to a fee when a cost changed on a specific date.

  • Older orders use the older rate, and newer orders use the newer rate.

  • A normal fee edit applies to orders going forward.

Tips

  • Start with the Default profile so every order has a cost.

  • Add specific profiles only where your costs really differ.

  • Enter your cost to ship, not what the customer paid for shipping.

  • Profiles cannot overlap on the same country, method, and product combination, so each order maps to exactly 1 profile.
