Answers to common questions about reporting, tracking and your account.

Can I change the currency or timezone?

Venon gets the shop currency and timezone from Shopify. There is no separate currency or timezone picker in Venon. Reports use the selected shop's settings.

Which ad platforms receive conversions from Venon?

Venon has conversion sending for Meta, Google Ads and Taboola. Sending depends on the platform connection and conversion setup. Venon does not currently send conversions back to TikTok, Microsoft Ads, Pinterest or Outbrain. Importing ad data from a platform is separate from sending conversions to it.

Which cookies does Venon set on my storefront?

The storefront tracking script writes dv_sessionId, which contains a randomly generated session identifier used to connect activity. It requests a 10-year expiry and uses SameSite=Strict. The script also creates _fbp if it is missing and creates or updates _fbc when a new fbclid is present in the URL; these cookies request a 90-day lifetime and use SameSite=Lax. It briefly sets and removes ve_dchk to find a usable cookie domain. These writes are in Venon’s own script, even when Venon is not loading the Meta browser pixel. Browsers can shorten or block cookie lifetimes.

The external checkout script also writes ve_vid when a visitor ID is available. It requests a 1-hour lifetime and uses SameSite=Lax. This passes the visitor identity through checkout. This is specific to the external checkout tracking path.

The storefront script reads existing Shopify cart and Klaviyo __kla_id cookies; it does not create those cookies. It also uses session storage for visitor handoff and attribution information. Connected advertising pixels can set their own cookies. This is not a complete cookie list for every third-party script on your store.

Does tracking wait for cookie consent?

In the current storefront app-embed script, there is no check of Shopify Customer Privacy consent before it creates its identifier and sends tracking data. Do not assume a cookie banner automatically blocks this script.

This describes the storefront script, not every Shopify pixel or consent manager. Actual behavior can differ if your consent manager blocks scripts. Check your store's implementation and get appropriate privacy advice before relying on a consent setup. This article does not establish a legal basis for tracking.

Does uninstalling Venon delete my data?

Uninstalling the Shopify app disconnects the shop and clears its Shopify access tokens. The uninstall handler does not delete historical orders or tracking data. Uninstalling is not a data-deletion request or a confirmed subscription cancellation. Contact support for those requests.

Does revenue include tax?

Order revenue includes tax. Do not confuse it with Net Revenue in the order cost breakdown, which accounts for refunds and the tax used in that shop’s profit calculations. For shops configured to ignore VAT, the tax deducted in those calculations is 0. Profit calculations can therefore use a different revenue base from an order total. See Metric glossary.

How do I compare 2 periods?

  2. Choose Previous period, Previous week, Previous month, Previous quarter, Previous year or Previous year (same weekday). You can also choose dates in the calendar.
